Here's a thought for deep watering. I take a 3 lb empty coffee can and cut off the bottom. Bury about 6 to 8 inches away from my tomato plants and about 3/4 of the can height, deep. You could paint the top and inside to make it look nicer in your garden. I water once a week, filling the can 2 times. approx 2 gal of water Byron
