T o all my family, friends, and computer associates:

My Norton Anti-virus ( and my AVG anti-virus which runs concurrently) has
detected and deleted a virus file sent to me from a NEEM computer list I
belong to. The virus is MTX, is a destructive virus that has 3
parts......including a file to prevent you from getting help from anti-virus
vendors.

PLEASE immediately update your Anti-virus signature files......and if you
don't have an anti-virus program.....get one!! If you don't have an
anti-virus program, and you don't intend to get one.....please let me know,
so I can block any future emails from you. It's drastic, but unfortunately
necessary in this crazy world of ours.

Please see below info about this virus and others going around now......be
alert....this is the time of the year for the "crazies" to let these things
out.....

Pete

High profile viruses are listed in the Recent Outbreaks section which can be
found at:
http://antivirus.about.com/compute/antivirus/cs/recentoutbreaks/index.htm

[NAVIDAD]
This virus has a bug that renders all executables incapable of running.

[MTX]
Combining a worm, virus, and Trojan component, MTX blocks access to certain
anti-virus vendor sites – effectively preventing users from downloading the
protection they need.

[MUSIC]
Displaying a graphical Merry Christmas greeting to disguise its malicious
intent, Music is a self-updating VBScript worm.

[HYBRIS]
This worm self-updates via binary postings to the alt.comp.virus newsgroup.
