Virginia,

It is not unusual for Cherry type tomatoes to grow very tall!  I grow mine on 
netting and weave them in and out for support.  The often grow 10-16' tall 
and just ramble.  I grow Green Grape, Sungold, Gardener's Delight which we 
just love, as well as about 12 other grape tomatoes.  They are such fun for 
salads snacks, and for making wonderful colorful fresh sauces.
