Chilli sprays are illegal in Australia. What is the situation in other countries? This is a copy of an old post Recently, a local tv station decided to test pepper sprays by having a lady reporter spray 3 "attackers" (all County Deputies) with several types of spray. 1. The direct spray hit the guy hard, he winced it hurt. He tried to wash his head in a bucket, but he said, if he wanted to, he could have kept going. I believe him. 2. The next was a pepper mist. This was quite effective, too, except that it blew back into the lady reporter's face and make her hack and cough. This officer, too, felt pain. 3. The last was a foam. It seemed to require a bit more proper aim to hit the guy in the face, but once there, it was quite effective, and, not a little bit amusing, sorta like the old pie-throwing scenes from a Three Stooges movie. I guess I would go for either the straight spray or the foam. Michael Bailes, The Fragrant Garden, Portsmouth Road, Erina. N.S.W. 2250 Australia.
