>>My question is this: is Blair's Sudden Death considered a very hot sauce >>by connisuiers? And, what do you people do with this sauce, really? Sudden Death is damn hot. A short primer on Blairs: Many commercial Sauce companies follow a similer model of low heat, high heat, pepper extract, silly heat. Entry level - Blairs Death Sauce a lotta lime juice- this is my favorite general purpose hot sauce. I use it in place of catsup and steak sauce. Mid Range- Bairs After-Death Sauce same basic sauce less more pepper per volume also really good. High end - Blairs Sudden Death enter the world of pepper extracts Pepper extract sauces contain an amount of pepper extract. This is highly concentrated with capsicum the stuff that makes stuff hot. Blairs sudden death is OK to taste. It is matched against Endorphin rush , and Daves insanity. None of these taste too great on their own but do make good ingrediant for chili, salsa, and milkshakes. So to answer you original question- Yeah, Its hot. Stupid end- Blairs 2 A.M. Yes there is somthing hotter. Blairs 2 A.M. is highly refined pepper extract. It is an ingrediant only. When I purchased one of these $28 little beauties I had to sign a release form (not a joke) to release the store owner from liability. I also got a 10 minute lecture about how dangerous the stuff is. It smells bad but a little bit mixed in with a big pot of meat, chiles, onions, and some tomatoes makes a good hot chile. (BTW it does come in a really neat little glass bottle - the bottle itself looks scary with a little skull peaking out under the (platic) wax cap) >>Looking forward to following the chile threads on this list. Nobody else >>understands the delight I take in this sensation. >>Daryl We understand... >:)
