I got these recipes from another list. Might be good for a party. Sounds a bit too "tangy" with vinegar for me! Spiedies (pronouced Speedy) are a very yummy grilled "sandwich" that originated somewhere in or around Broome County, NY Basically you cut up pork, chicken, beef, lamb, or venison into bite size pieces. (Most favor chicken breast.) The marinade is a very tangy vinagrette. You marinate the meat in spiedie sauce for 24 - 48 hours - this is KEY, if you marinate it any less the meat just doesn't taste as tangy. Then you skewer the meat like shish kabobs and char-grill them. The traditional way to serve is fold a piece of sandwich sized Italian bread and place meat in the center - sort of how you would serve a hot-dog on a piece of bread when you're in a pinch. Then you can spoon more fresh marinade over it and enjoy. Most restaurants in the area serve them as submarine sandwiches. Every summer in Binghamton, Ny (Broome Co, NY) they have a huge Spiedie fest with a hot air balloon launch and a contest for the best Spiedie sauce.
