Did a taste comparison last night with Calvins Powder and Jim Campbell's Apple Smoked Habanero Powder on some swordfish. Broiled it and topped with lemon juice and butter and sprinkled separate pieces with each powder. Jim's is much hotter, of course, and very pungent. Calvin's has a more complex flavor and added a nice gold color that made the presentation much prettier. Of the two I preferred Calvin's on the fish which has a pretty delicate flavor. The Hab powder needs something stronger that wouldn't be overpowered...like a nice pork roast loaded with garlic cloves...or maybe some sausage patties.
