Time to throw in my $0.02:


For those who weren't aware of it, Penzey's Ltd. has opened a retail store in 

Madison, Wisconsin- it's on University Avenue (don't recall the exact address). 

I've bought a lot of spices from them- not just chiles but basics like bay leaves,

oregano, and cumin- and have been invariably satisfied. They also have a lot 

of their own-recipe rubs, spice mixes and so on- the garam masala is the 

best I've ever come across. 


Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. Usual "just a happy customer" 

disclaimers apply.
