For aphid control, I use an insecticidal soap spray in combination with
a garlic and hot pepper spray (different bottles; applied on consecutive
days).

Take 3 oz. of garlic. Pulverize. Soak in a couple tablespoons of
mineral oil for at least a day (I usually do two). Add a hot pepper or
two, or some chile powder. Puree. Strain. Pour into a pint of warm
water. Get a spray bottle. Add 1 - 2 tablespoons of this diluted
mixture per pint of water. Add a drop or two of dish soap - watch out!
for anti-bacterial soap. It will dry up your chile leaves. Use Dove or
Ivory or some other regular dish soap. As usual, try this on only a few
leaves. Wait a couple days. If no damage, spray away.

I'd appreciate hearing about more aphid cures. But this has (finally)
started to work for me.
