Officially:

    The Summer Solstice hotluck and Maryland State Chili Championship will
be held at the Aberdeen Proving Ground - Maryland Boulevard Park (just
inside the the south entrance) on Sunday, June 21.  As already posted, this
is a great facility that will work rain or shine.  Admission is free and
chili samples will be available for 25 cents or whatever donation you care
to make.  The event proceeds go to the ROnald McDonald HOuse.

    If you would like to cook in the CASI-sanctioned chili cookoff, let me
know and I will send you an entry form and rules.  First-time CASI cooks
will have a free entry.  There will also be a freestyle chili competition
(entry $5).  Send me an email with your snail mail address and I'll get the
info right out to you.

    Of course, the cookoff comes with all the fixin's for a fine family
time - music, beverages, food, hotluck, and good friends.  Hope to see you
all there.  I'll be posting complete directions in the next couple of days.
