Bosland and DeWitt don't bother to mention it. USDA list fruit position as one of the descriptors. I am not going to even suggest due to ignorance that it is of any taxononic significance. Of interest is that there are many species of ground foraging birds as well. How many if any of these occur in C. cardenasii land I don't know. Regards Peter
