Well, I really, really don't want to offend anyone, but my children would have laughed me out of the house with this recipe. Plus as a home brewer of 14 years I have to agree, the only proper place for beer is IN the cook. My God, how simple can it be? I would NEVER cook with beer (as an ingredient). I know how hard it is to make good beer. If you were to indulge in an excess of really good beer you probably wouldn't be upset about how "hot your chili is". I grow my own hops and I must disagree about adding a hop or two to the pot unless you're a hop head which of course is a completely different thing!
