Hi, I have 4 chilli plants that are growing well here in Australia. I have 1 Chi-Chien plant, 1 Habanero plant and 2 plants which on there card are called Chilli Perpetually hot. Anyway, as I said they are all growing well and are producing lots of good looking chillis. My question is - when is the best time to pick the chillis off the plant ? The chillis that are turning red all seem to be drying out whilst the green ones have nice full bodies on them. Am I supposed to pick them when they are green or wait until the chillis turn red 1st ????? If I pick them when they are green will they turn red and if so, how long will they take ? I don't want to loose any of the heat or flavour from the chillis. Could someone also explain to the best way to cut the off ? (i.e.... do you cut them off at the bottom of the fruit or at the bottom of the stem where it meets the branch) Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to offer some help..... Whitey.......
