I'm located in Eugene, OR. I grow in pots on my deck (the deer make a real
garden hopeless), and have had very good luck with several varieties of
chinense, including datil. Other people I've talked to up here who grow
chinenses (& datils) generally find that pots are the way to go b/c the
temperature is generally a bit cool for chiles and the pots help to warm
them up. Last year I exchanged some email with someone in Canada
(Toronto?) who said he had +30 or 40 of them growing in his garden, so the
St. Augustine myth is clearly wrong!
