Hi C-H's, If one places C. seeds on the surface of water they float. Be careful not to submerge them as they must respire to grow. The top surface should remain dry. Put in a warm place (80-90F) and they will germinate in a few days if viable. You can see the ones that have germinated by the rootlet sticking out. Do not let them grow too long as they will start to form root hairs which are too fragile to handle. An eighth of an inch is fine. Have ready some seedling starter containers (I use the peat ones) filled with damp sterile seed starting compost. Make a small hole in the compost with a cocktail stick (about 0.25" deep), and using the same stick, pick up the germinated seed and drop it carefully into the hole. Use a water mister (or spray bottle) to cover the seedling with compost. All these items should be at 80-90F. No need for multiple planting. You know they have all germinated. Regards, Cameron.
