Peter, I would love to trade some pepper seeds for Rosemary ( maybe a cutting?) I live in New Orleans and the rosemary I have here never gets over 8 inches tall, I think I need a variety that can withstand the heat & humidity better, you're in Florida, should be similar, maybe the variety you have is a winner, no? The peppers I have been growing so far are more about flavor than heat: I have these to trade: FQ Cayenne, Hungarian Hot Wax, Ancho(poblano), conchi di toro (Italian sweet bulls horn.) I have others too (flowers, vines etc) Email me private if you're interested. Simple Uses for Rosemary: Rosemary means remembrance, wear a sprig in your lapel when gardening and you will feel invigorated & recall positive experiences. At the end of the day put it in a bowl on the back of your toilet and you are on your way to a potpourri. I like to make a kind of Cuban porkchop. Warm some green olive oil and add a sprig of rosemary, a chopped garlic clove, a pinch of cumin, cuban or conchi di toro sweet peppers or, HOT ones if you prefer, chopped or slivered, Then when the scents peak, add a couple thin pork chops, brown, then hit it with some white wine, turn down to low, cover and simmer 20 minutes or til done. Serve with black beans and rice. Wrap a fresh fish with lots of rosemary sprigs and lemons and bake it in foil. YUM Stuff a chicken with rosemary sprigs and put garlic cloves between the skin and the chicken. Rub it with olive oil, s&p. Put in a very hot oven (425) for 20 minutes then turn down to 350 and bake an hour or til done. Your neighbors will be knocking on the door when they smell it cooking. :) I have a recipe for a rosemary pesto that's great over potatoes or with bread if that interests you? I'll look for it. As for the spelling thang, most geniuses can't spell for s--- and the older you get the less you can do it or need it so relax in your retirement but Yahoo mail has one, I should use it I guess.
