Thanks Graeme for the seed suppliers list. But, you say > Mark, most of the companies listed below will supply overseas. > I've had catalogues and seeds from most of them. European legislation forbids the selling of seed of any variety not registered in the "European Common Catalogue". Which is why the range available here is so pathetically small compared to that in the US. Last I knew (which is pretty recent) US companies could send seed but only with a certificate of freedom from pests and viruses, which itself costs US$25-$50. Travellers are allowed to bring back up to five packets of seed in personal luggage for personal use but that is the only exemption. Have you really succeeded in ordering direct without a certificate? When, from whom? (Sorry, that may sound aggressive and challenging, it's not meant to be! I'm genuinely interested. Maybe I can stop asking my mother to post me seeds in packages labelled "socks" :-) I have noticed that the range of chiles available here is getting better. Although several catalogues describe jalapenos as "beware, *very* hot" next to descriptions of habs which make them sound milder. Serious potential for surprised customers there. best Mary in Manchester, England
