I noticed this morning that my Thai Dragon was infested heavily with aphids. I know that soapy water will kill them (it coats their body and suffocates the little bugger). The question is, how often do I need to soap the plants down? I fertilize with a 4 in 1 sprayer about 3 times a month. With it mixing and spreading out a dilute solution, it would be a great place to put a few drops of soap. With this method, it will not kill the eggs, just the adults. The big question is, how do I kill the eggs too? Nicotine is a poison and can cause harm to peppers BUT will destroy the eggs. So, can I incorporate a soap/nicotine mix WITH the fertilizer and use it a few times a month. Once I whack all the bugs it would only be for preventative measures for the survivors. Why not fertilize and do some pest removal? Anyone have tips on efficient aphid removal?
