Hey Ray, get some Ladybugs! You can buy them from most catalogs now and they're worth it. They consume something like a billion aphids a day. Also check your area for ants. Those little buggers farm aphids as pets (called cows)cos they like their sweet honeydew. They even have a special room for them in their ant farm! They haul em around- I saw ants with aphids on their backs climbing up to the top of my 10 foot rubber tree! Gives new meaning to Sinatra's song "High Hopes" (the one bout ants moving rubber tree plants.) lol I hate aphids and am always haulin my plants in the shower in spring til the ladybugs arrive and it gets too hot for em. Another advantage to pots, maybe...but NO FUN! Oh I also make a potion I call my "Voodoo Garden Blessing Mist" that I spray them with. Basically cayenne, garlic, dish soap. Alot of bad bugs hate it, the cool ones are chileheads and stick around. :) grow in peace, Rose New Orleans, zone 9 === Peace in the garden, Passion in your spirit!
