Twas Writ: >Hi everybody, I'd like to encourage all gardeners to >join me in the Yellow Ribbon Garden Project. >I hope gardeners everywhere will display yellow >ribbons and/or a yellow ribbon of garden lights in >their gardens to show support and faith for the >3 p.o.w's and all troops in harm's way. Plant yellow personally, i'm displaying black ribbons in opposition to: --the US/NATO decision to stick their nose in where it does not belong, i.e. play World Police, --the US/NATO decision to wage war against a country that by all definitions was keeping to itself until bombed by NATO aggressors (corner a dog, he will bite), --US/NATO hypocrisy in deciding to support 'oppressed peoples" (what about Kurds in Iraq and Turkey? various oppressed peoples in Africa? US support of a corrupt mexican government who seems determined to destroy Zapatista "rebels"? silence about years of chinese aggression in nepal?), --the bias and propaganda spewed by the US/NATO forces as well as media, --the use of NATO troops as an aggressive force which violates the purpose *of* NATO, --the stupidity of government in general - supposedly responsible entities - for thinking violence/war/bombs/etc. can force peace to exist...it's been tried throughout history and it does not work nor ever will. it is illogical. and personally, i'd show much more support (which is none, right now...and i'm ex military, btw) for the US troops if they had stood in unity, faced their "commander-in-chief" and told him to go to hell...or went a step or two further...or at least asked some hard questions and demanded logical answers...other than the fact that the US wants (to create) a reason for US presence in that area (hence, the primary russian and chinese reasons for objection to the entire fiasco... in short (ha..), i'd hope one would not blindly support troops merely out of 'patriotic duty' or whatever it's called. the days of government serving the desires and whims of the few need to cease, as should the days of unquestioning confidence in politicians, as well as presidents, who think not of public service, but personal achievement, status, and wealth. but that's just me...and not chile-related no matter how you twist it...which just goes to show one what happens when posts dealing with politics are sent to a mailing list dealing with chileheads...i know it was well meant, but please understand that not everyone on this list is an american, not every american is in favor of bombing foreign countries, and not every american, or non-american for that matter , thinks 'all is well' in a country ruled by Corporate Entities and led by a sociopathic lying bastard... on the other hand...my squash seedlings are peeking from the soil and the tiny serrano seedlings are winking at me...this is a good thing... my apologies to everyone for this...quite a sore point with me...Monk Rael returneth to his dungeon now to re-educate a nubile i've got my fingers upon, so to speak...(baby, where did you put that salsa!...come to poppa now...)... peace, hendrix, and chiles.......
