I could be wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that rocotos (C. pubescens)
can tolerate a mild frost. The problem with rocotos is that they require a
longer
growing season that isn't available in many cooler climates.
Generally, I would think that chiles that originated in the mountains would be
better at cold tolerance.
