Hello all, I am in need of some advice. Yesterday I went to Exotic Harvest Nursery for their selection of 'exotic' chiles. The woman there said, and firmly believed, that chiles were not entirely native to the Americas. That there was a strain of chile grew in China and migrated ("...are you suggesting that coconuts are migratory?") to India. She was sure of this because that is what she learned while obtaining her degree in Botany, 20 years ago. I had thought that that theory was proven wrong. Am *I* wrong? Wouldn't be the first time. They did have a marvelous selection. Now I know that this does not rival any of you good people's gardens, but for me (who has a veritable black thumb) this is an accomplishment. Between the garden at my mother's house and the one at my inlaw's house I have : 7 Cayennes 6 Habaneros 4 Jalapenos 2 Cowhorns 2 Hot Banana 1 Sweet Red Bell 2 Mulattos 2 Cascabels 2 Poblanos 2 Thai Hots 2 Thai Dragons 2 Rooster Claws - Any one heard of these? The owner said that they were the hottest chiles she had 2 Arubas - Any one heard of these? If all of these survive and bear fruit I will be swimming in the chiles and will have to try my hand a canning and jelly making and freezing and drying and etc... George J.
