I have my first habanero plant this year. Noticed right away that it is a little different form than jalapeno, anaheim, new mexico....etc. Question: This little plant is very bushy, but still only about 3-4 inches tall. I bought it and put it in a nice big pot approximately 3 weeks ago. However, even at its small stature, I noticed this morning what looked to be the very tiny starts of fruit. Since the plant is so small yet, should I pinch these first fruits off and let the plant get some size first? Since they are in pots, I can finish the fall/winter indoors in a sunroom - but no light setup as yet. Not looking to be such a good year for peppers and tomatoes here in NW Missouri. Only a few hot sunny days so far...lots of cloudy, cool and wet days. (Sigh)(I wouldn't be surprised to find moss growing on my back. No webbed feet so far.) BTW, the hubby and I were recently in attendance at a hot rod shindig that stopped for an evening at Station Casino in Kansas City. While there, we had our evening meal at a mexican restaurant within the casino (unfortunately, I have forgotten the name of the place). There was a salsa bar which was quite bragged up by our host, who said he personally tasted each salsa every day (yeah, right... in a chain-style place). Anyway, to make a short story long, the salsas were quite tasty, but the habanero salsa, which he had told us was very hot...was NOT - no heat at all. I have no idea how they managed this with habanero, other than to get the wrong salsa by the wrong name plate. Couldn't find the guy again to tell him that he better go check his salsa bar again. Next odd item: I ordered rellenos. Again very tasty, but I could swear it looked like AND TASTED like it was a small stuffed green BELL pepper. Again, sigh. Oh well. Thanks in advance on ideas on the hab plant. Renae
