Mary: You need to specify the correct grade. Reagent grade glacial acetic acid should be as pure (or purer) than a "food grade". You can get it from any laboratory supply dealer. In adition to reagent grade glacial acetic acid, Fisher Scientific sells 20% acetic acid. The purity is not specified, but is traceable to NIST. I would guess it's probably as good as "food grade". You can find out by calling them at 1*800-*766-7000. They have branches all over North America. Acetic Acid, 20% v/v 4 liter: cat no LC10210-4, $28.70 20 liter: cat no LC10210-5, $89.50 As previous noted, this material is dangerous to work with. Protective clothing, eye protection and good ventilation is recommended. Contact me off-line if you want more information.
