>It's supposed to get to 87ºF today, more blossoms I hope! -and- >We have just the opposite problem in San Antonio. Highs have been 100F, >plus or minus a degree or so, for weeks..... The high here (southeast Washington) yesterday was 103, and my jalepenos and green chiles are just loving it. Makes me wish I had room for more variety. They are all well over 3 feet tall, and loaded with fruit. I don't know if it helps or hinders, but I have four of each in a raised brick planter, on the east side of the house. They get lots of morning sun, but nothing after noon. And plenty of water every night. The roots are covered with a generous layer of mulch bark, and they get Miracle-Gro about once a month. Good luck to all those who are being environmentally challenged this year. El Nino, La Nina, Los Ninnies.....
