Last year and the year before, I planted a few Red Savina seeds (as plants started indoors). They produced Red Savina habs as expected. However the late season (cover to avoid the frost late) pods had very little heat. The Red Savina is, as I understand it, a natural mutation discovered by the GNS people. As I understand the situation, GNS kept reproducing the Red Savina until they had commercial quantities of seed and still are the sole producer of it. It is supposed to produce true to type seed if you protect it from cross pollination. Jim C. knows more about this and perhaps it is time for him to add his expertise to this thread.
