Subject: [CH] sydney chile festival I also noted from the original posting that the Sydney Chile Festival was to be at the Rocks on the weekend of 28-30 August, but I can not find anything on the Web confirming this and the original posting was way back at the start of June. Can anyone confirm if this event is going ahead and where I can find some more details about it ? Either way I have booked my flights to fly across the Tasman and now that the once mighty All Blacks have lost the Bledisloe Cup this Festival has become my one excuse for travelling. Pretty good excuse though. Ian Sinclair Yes, indeed, Ian. You saw my posting re Fiery Foods Festival scheduled for Aug 28-30 at the Rocks. I'm not the organiser but was going to be an exhibitor (Wild Chile). Sadly I must go OS for a client and can't get back until that Saturday! So I'm out but the Festival is still in. I'll be there (as an observer) on Sat and or Sun. The organiser is Chilli Press. This is the first festival they've done so they haven't totally gotten their act together re reaching chileheads. But it is being publicised thru Chilli Press and apparently through some of the mainstream press. I haven't seen anything yet. But you, and anyone else out there, should come and help make it a success so it can continue and grow (I'll surely be there next year). DATES & TIMES: Friday 28 Aug 1 - 5 pm (I think this is for media) Sat 29 Aug: 9:30 am - 5:30 pm Sun 30 Aug: 9:30 am - 4:30 pm LOCATION: ASN Gallery, The Rocks (this is a gallery at the junction of Hickson Road and George street...where the Rocks Markets are - they will be on Sunday, so lots of activity besides the FF Festival) FEATURES: Judging by a 'celebrity panel' for Best Hot Sauce, Best Salsa, Best Jam/Jelly, etc. and Best Product Overall, Most Unusual Product, Best Stand. There will also be food demos. I know, it's not very adventurous, but if it's successful enough I'll add a heap of activities and promotions for next year when I participate. Anyway, get it touch to let me know when you'll be there and maybe we can meet up to discuss a chilehead perspective. BB
