I cut back my VERY spindly Serranos from last year to about 6 inches of
woody stem with a few leaves, which they finally lost. They came back like
gangbusters this year with both plants about 36 inches tall and extremely
bushy. Only one produced much fruit, but I think that's probably more a
matter of genetics than anything else.
