Fellow Chile Heads; This past weekend was the Pueblo (Colo) Chile Festival. I went down with my family and had a wonderfull time. 1st and Union streets were blocked off and there were numerous arts and crafts booths, as well as all types of mexican foods etc.. But the real event was the chile roasting. There were about a half dozen local farms roasting chiles there. The smell was wonderful! I just followed my nose from I-25 right to downtown! Anaheims, New Mexicos, Pueblos, (both Hot and Mild, red and green), along with Fresnos, Jalapenos, etc.. Prices were $8-9 a bushel, $12-13 bushel roasted. The crop this year was to quote a grower "just great! The harvets was almost over as of last weekend. So get your chiles now or wait till next year. Mark
