I am 200 yards back with nothing but a wildlife (Ducks not Lions) reserve between. I grow my chiles at the back of the house which give some protection from the salty sea breeze. You may need to give a bit of protection from the wind and sun. A little shade may help stop the plants cooking in salt water:-) No scientific reason just a feeling that my Jalepenos get "sunburned" from time to time. Have a go. Good luck Tony Flynn Grandad.
