Last year a few folks mentioned that they had an occasional problem with Blossom end rot. In essence it say's that overfertilizing, esp with ammonium ion can depress the calcium up intake. My thoughts are, ammonium nitrate aka nitrogen. You go out a feed your chiles, from the time you add fertilizer until the excess has been absorbed or washed away, the calcium is being depressed.
