Squish the borers by hand; I use an x-acto knife or a straight razor to open up the stalk and dig them out. Squish them outside the squash area 'tween two rocks, tape up the stalk with masking tape and bury the stalk in the ground it will grow roots. I also use coffee grounds and a couple of moth balls (easy,.. you knuckle draggers!) around the plants to stop the borers. Chet Suzanne wrote: > Well its all but official.
