[CH] Pesky pests

Dear fellow CHs,

You may remember a while back I posted about the spider mite on my chile 
plants. Well, thanks to some of you kind CHs out there, my plants have put in 
a monster recovery and are looking quite good (if I say so myself!!)

So, I've seen what to do to get rid of squirrels and other rodenty 
things......what can I do about snails?! They are shredding my 
garden....haven't touched the chiles (yet) but have munched my pole beans and 
the tagetes around my tomato plants. Every night I walk out of the house, 
and....crunch....squelch...etc etc. My fiance reckons when the day of 
judgement comes there'll be a big snail waiting for me!! I've used slug 
pellets, and (I hate to admit this) dipped them in a saucer of salt, but I'm 
getting desperate!!

Any suggestions gratefully received!!
