Thanks, Pam, for the kind words. Sorry I didn't get another report out right away - life tends to interfere with my e-mail! The weather for the Seattle area turned out great! That means that it only rained a little in the morning, stayed overcast all day, with a little sun coming out as everyone was leaving! Pretty good for a 4th of July Weekend which is typically cold and wet. (Summer starts on July 5 most years). As Pam described, the food was incredible! Fortunately for me, as I was running around at the Chili Cookoff, the curry lasted long enough for me to get some! Craig entered the chili cookoff and placed in the top 10 - considered very good for a "first time cook". He may be on his way to Terlingua if he keeps it up! With our first annual hotluck under our belts, we'll be able to do even better next year (or next winter if we need something to get through the long winter!). Thanks to all who came! The "Listers" continue to be the friendliest people around! Oh, and to be fair to Donn's Quality Meats at the Kent Public Market - the chili was provided to him just so the public would have something to taste without us having to fight the Health Dept. - VERY difficult in this area. Next time, try his "hot links". Very tasty large sausages with more than enough heat for those of us "moderates" and should have detectable heat to those with asbestos tongues. Looking forward to '01! Peggy, Seattle's Chile Babe (thanks to all who met me for not blowing my cover!)
