Because most of the time all I do is post recipes, I thought I would give you all an update on my plants (which I now have back from Karen). First off, I want to say Thanks again to Karen Stober for taking care of my 3 over-wintered chile plants while I was getting settled in my new house. That was a big help and I really appreciate it. Second, my Bolivian Rainbow not only has flowers galore but a few peppers beginning. I'm so happy. They seem to like the spot I put them in. The front of the house gets a lot of sun from around 12 noon to around 7 at night. Not so much that it hurts the plants, just a nice amount of sun and heat. All my plants are still in their pots and will be until next year probably. I will probably remove the Pequin from it's pot and re-pot it in a larger pot. I think it may be root bound and is not flowering or budding. The aphids seem to be almost gone. That I am thankful for. Let's see what happens the rest of the summer. I hope the pequins do something after I re-pot them. The Chiltepin grew a bit at Karen's. It took quite a growth spurt. The leaves on the growth spurt part are quite large compared to the older part of the plant. Does anyone know a reason for that? I am hoping for more chiles than last year on this plant. I didn't harvest any chiles until late in the season last year. That is my update. RisaG
