Well, varieties proliferate each year due to cross pollination, but due to no 
fault on Lord Byron's part since he prevents cross pollination by planting 
his chiles in granite at least one mile from each other.
He normally grows about 365 varieties (one variety to the row) 18 inches 
between plants and one mile between rows.  364 miles, man, that's a lot of 
cultivated granite.
