Marilyn, I too, have a second coffee grinder (exactly like the first--got it at a yard sale, new for a buck!) to grind chiles. I haven't added anything to the grind other than peppers but I spose you could. Might have to clean it afterwards so as not to flavor your next batch if you didn't want to do the same thing again. For me, I don't clean mine after each use with rice or whatever because I generally got toss in a mix of dried peppers, grind and stash in my portable containers. Oh, and on the sister thing....my husband is brain dead in the morning and the first task at hand is to make coffee. He is cheerful, just plain stupid. I am waiting for the day that he makes a mistake and uses the wrong one. It is labeled but I have to consider the source! Would surely wake him up!
