Hello Kevin, and anyone else interested.....you too, Byron, seeinag as you had
a problem "oversummering your plants!" (am I mean?.....yep!) Anyway, I have 12
chile plants in 3 separate buckets, with a marigold in the middle of the four
plants, and this will be the third winter that they will survive (an
assumption, based on the last two!) I bring them in, and place them in an
empty apartment(for those who dont know, I run a building, with 75 of 'em)
Same situation would apply with any room, south facing if possible, really
does not matter as long as some light gets in. After they have stopped
producing fruit, last year that was February, I cut them back about half way
down the wood, and let them rest....a little water once a month. The temp in a
vacant suite will not go above 50F and they seem to thrive on that. I have 4
Thai dragons, 4 habs and this year 4 jalapenos, because this spring I pulled
up my carib reds....lottsa heat, very little flavour, right Byron? Good luck
with them!
Jim C, sorry not to get to Indiannnnnnaaaaana....we were closer than BC, got
to Winnipeg!
Cheers, Doug in BC
