Well, Jim....happy to see that you once again had a very successful field clearing operation although it looks like there were still lots of peppers on the plants, looking at Jeff's page. BTW, congrats, Jeff on the neat pics! Have an amusing story for you. A couple of nights ago, I made a Mexican meat mess(picadillo), and while it was doing, decided that as I had laced it with that apple smoked hab powder, I would make a corn mush bottom and top, and finish cooking it in the convection. Well, I put the water on....pinch of salt, pinch of sugar, 1/4 tsp of that apple smoked hab powder, the one you labeled 10 HOT, sorry, mis labeled 10 HOT. In truth it is about 25 HOT, and when placed in water and brought to a boil, should have a disclaimer on the label....BREATHING APPARATUS REQUIRED. Put both my gentle wife, and myself into coughing fits, and I had to open the patio door, and turn the bathroom fan on! Remember, this is an apartment.....a wonder it did not activate the alarm in the hallway, which would have brought a call from our monitoring station, before they called # 3 hall!! Anyway, I managed to add the cornmeal, and stir it enuf to get it into mush, not quite polenta, while wearing a mask.....dumped half of it into a casserole dish, then dumped the meat mess into it, covered it with the of the mush, stuck it in the oven for abouit 45 minutes, and between the heat in the meat and the heat in the mush, it was almost edible. We killed it tonight, and it ws even better a couple of days later! If anyone wants the recipe, I will try and work them out, because as most of you old timers know, I start from scratch(usually my head)and go from there! Cheers, Doug in BC
