Most of these seed companies purchase their seeds from growers
who can grow plants and seeds in warmer climates much more
quickly that these guys can do it themselves. Every pepper variety
except one in the Vesey's seed catalog last year was from
Seminis Garden, a seed grower which wholesales to other growers.

Stokes does grow a lot of varieties which they market exclusively
but all of the other growers listed simply purchase from seed
wholesalers.

Johnnys, which purchases seeds from other suppliers does run
tests before offering them to their customers. I've never seen
anything from them claiming to grow their own seed crops, but on
the other hand, I've never seen anything from them where they
purchase seeds from others.

Who only purchases seeds from quality seed wholesalers, just like
the guys in Byrons post.
