Brings to mind scenes of far off Mandalay where the natives are clad in
shiny leather aprons and sent to run through the rich fields of fragrant
swaying Xanthan.  After a few minutes when the aromatic gums from the ripe
and fragrant Xanthan plants have covered the aprons, the workers return to
the outbuildings.  Here the scantilly clad native females, cheerfully
singing ancient songs,  use sharp bamboo scrapers to remove the Xanthan
gum, which is bundled in palm fronds to begin it's long journey through
lush tropical forests to the sea.  After a long sea voyage the Xanthan Gum
is sent to factories where it is used to thicken all manner of soups,
sauces and dressings.  Truly a remarkable tale...
