This comment is quite true. We did a hotluck at work and someone brought in stuffed jalapenos. With the membrane and seeds removed, the jalapeno had no heat and did taste just like a bell pepper. If my taste buds had been expecting no heat, I probably would have been more satisfied with the outcome.
