<< "Chevy's Fresh Mex" is the "new name" for Rio Bravo, >> It's a bit of an interesting story: Scooter and family started a restaurant in the early 80's called Chevy's in Marin (as in Peacock Feathers). Later they expanded and opened one near us in Concord, Ca. They were doing quite well w/really good fresh Tex-Mex w/excellent serious hot Macho salsa and handmade fresh chips. Along comes Pepsi with a bag of money and they sell out. Pesi screwed up the concept not to mention the morale :-( Then you guessed it, Scooter and friends bought it back about 4 years ago. Then bought Rio Bravo--even came out with a Rio Bravo/Chevy's cookbook last year. As the transition takes place all will be under the Chevy's brand. You can get some real hot as in Habanero sides of salsa, and great Chipotle salsas. They'll even bring you pickled or fresh chiles----just ask!
