Cameron I think you will find that the Jerusalem and False Jerusalem cherries are the deadly nightshades. Chinese Lantern another name for habanero.. In veggies include potato and eggplant. Nicotina, geranium, horsnettle and Datura can also host many of the chile pepper plant diseases. (plus about 2,500 other flowers) LB Hi C-H's, I noticed, and Brent Thompson also pointed this out, that I used the terms "Nightshade" and "Solanaceae" in a confusing way. In fact they are both the same family. The reasons I did this were that I believe that the ground cherry (Chinese lantern) is poisonous, whereas the Cape gooseberry (title) is not. So I used the two terms in association with their properties and may have confused you. Interestingly, tobacco is also in the Solanaceae family, which explains the susceptibility of chile peppers to tobacco mosaic virus (TMV). -
