Hi, all -- new member to the list. Active chile-head in Georgia, currently growing my first crop since arriving here. I'm having a problem in one isolated area of my garden (one plant, actually). The plant was setting flowers and had some new growth but was droopy and the leaves started to curl. Ultimately, the plant died. Suspecting that my problem was in the subsurface, I excavated an area approximately 8 inches around the plant and noticed what appeared to be root maggots all over the place. I removed all of the soil, replaced it with fresh, and replanted. Now, the same thing appears to be happening again -- obviously, I didn't get all of the little fellas. So, here are my questions: 1. I always thought that root maggots pretty specifically attacked onions and cabbage, not chiles. Have any of you had this problem before? 2. Is there anything I can do to get rid of them for next season? How about keeping them from spreading this season? Thanks in advance, and I look forward to being part of the list.... Matt
