--WebTV-Mail-8338-756 Content-Type: Text/Plain; Charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit Stoney's peppadews are WONDERFUL, but certainly not fiery - I'd give them a heat rating of 2 or even less. A travelling friend brought some back from S. Africa several years ago. They have a very complex taste, with pepper and peach coming through the most for me. I wrote them for their U.S. distributor and they gave me a name (now long lost), but that outfit never replied to my queries. Anyone know how to get Stoney's in the U.S.? I'd love to have some more. Incidentally, I have a neat magazine article about them and will send you a copy if you want to contact me off list. --WebTV-Mail-8338-756 Content-Disposition: Inline Content-Type: Message/RFC822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit Received: from smtpin-102-6.bryant.webtv.net (209.240.198.43) by storefull-122.iap.bryant.webtv.net with WTV-SMTP; Thu, 31 May 2001 10:45:05 -0700 (PDT) Received: by smtpin-102-6.bryant.webtv.net (WebTV_Postfix+sws) id 71910519; Thu, 31 May 2001 10:45:06 -0700 (PDT) Delivered-To: sooner54@webtv.net Received: from web02.bigbiz.com (web02.bigbiz.com [209.66.116.12]) by smtpin-102-6.bryant.webtv.net (WebTV_Postfix+sws) with ESMTP id F3164142; Thu, 31 May 2001 10:45:05 -0700 (PDT) Received: (from majordomo@localhost) by web02.bigbiz.com (8.8.7/8.8.7) id KAA28056 for chile-heads-list; Thu, 31 May 2001 10:20:13 -0700 Received: from hiway1.exit109.com (hiway1.exit109.com [208.225.64.3]) by web02.bigbiz.com (8.8.7/8.8.7) with ESMTP id KAA28036 for <chile-heads@globalgarden.com>; Thu, 31 May 2001 10:20:05 -0700 From: mstevens@exit109.com Received: from Debug (tonic.exit109.com [64.59.192.4]) by hiway1.exit109.com (8.11.2/8.11.2) with SMTP id f4VHK3L11707 for <chile-heads@globalgarden.com>; Thu, 31 May 2001 13:20:03 -0400 (EDT) Message-Id: <200105311720.f4VHK3L11707@hiway1.exit109.com> To: chile-heads@globalgarden.com Subject: [CH] New fiery fruit? Peppadew, a fiery new fruit determined to be a member of the capsicum family, has received FDA approval and will be launched in the U.S. Described as a cross between a cherry tomato and chile, the fruit is high in betacarotine and lycopene.
