Although most PETA members (if not all) are vegetarian, and despise the killing of animals, they ignore the fact that animal control is necessary in the commercial production of the vegetables we all love. Does not matter what state you live in, California has it's problems, Florida, Ohio, they all have to do it. Here in Ohio, no raccoon control = no sweet corn. No deer control = no melons, pumpkins, tomatoes, and just about everything else. Groundhogs are nothing more than giant rats, they pull down ears of corn, and chew holes in melons. In most cases elimination is the only option, relocation just gives someone else your problem, and it is now illegal in Ohio to relocate animal pests. Sorry for the rant, as I know this is off topic.
