I water my chiles in the pots every day and they are mighty hot. The ones in the ground get watered every 2 days and they seem hot enough for me. I don't find much difference. Maybe one of these days I will plant the same variety in both ways - pots and raised bed and see what the difference is, if any. Right now I have 5 Ring of Fire cayenne plants in pots. All prolific. All wonderful. I have Aji Amarillo, Aji Paralito, Brazilian Baccatum (unknown variety), Cascabel, Devil Pepper, Fatali, Nu Mex Big Jim and Purple Serrano in the raised bed. The Fatalis are just starting to bud, Cascabel has quite a lot of flowers and a couple of pods, Purple Serrano has tons of pods, Nu Mex Big Jim has 2 pods, Devil Pepper no buds yet (almost), Aji Amarillo 1 pod, and Aji Paralito and Brazilian nothing yet. Looks like they are about to bud. Should be a late harvest for those. I should harvest Aji Amarillo, Nu Mex, and Cascabel by the end of the month. Fatali by the end of August. I might have to overwinter a few too. We'll see.
