Just got back from a trip to Florida. In St. Augustine there is a restaurant called Barnacle Bill's who's owner also sells and makes? a line of sauces called the above. They only put one on the table which wasn't very impressive, reminded me of KC Masterpiece bbq sauce with a little heat. They also have a few dishes on the menu which use the dried ground version of the Datil, I had the shrimp which had a wonderful flavor from the spice, hot but not real hot. Our waiter told us they had some olives in the kitchen which were soaking in Datil vinegar, he brought us several and they were very good, he also brought at my request a container of the dry spice which for some reason they didn't sell. We ate at the beach location, our waiter said they had a much wider variety of the sauces at their downtown location. If your ever down St. Augustine way you might want to check out Barnacle Bill's, they probably sell the sauces online also. It seems I read somewhere that the Datil Chile is from St.Augustine, this was my first experience with the Datil and I really enjoyed the flavor. Charlie
