I have brought my two Carribean Hots and my Brazilian Rainbow in for
the winter for three years now. I cut them back in the early spring
to about two inches above the soil line. They have always come back
vigorously.

We (in the northeast) have just had a heat spell, which messed up a
few peppers. Gave them big brown spots, I guess it's sunburn. Luckily
I had a large harvest already, due to the fact that they were
fruiting at the time most people are just putting their seedlings in
the ground.

My Bishop's Crown (Thanks, Tara!) is about waist high and loaded with
green peppers. I can't wait until some ripen. I'm going to try to
over-winter it so I'll get peppers earlier next year. I only hope I
don't kill it when I dig it up and place it in a container.

Re. smoked pepper use...I use smoked peppers in chile, in red beans
and rice, sprinkle it on fish, chicken, steak, etc. before grilling
or broiling...

I'm getting hungry; gotta go...
